Louisa, the wife of Arthur Perigal, was a descendant of Alexis Pilleau, of Mans, and his wife, Madeleine Pezé, who escaped to England in 1685 with several of their children; one son, Jean, who remained, came into possession of the family estate in France.
The Pilleaus and Pezés both belonged to the French nobility. Arthur Perigal and his wife Louisa were both second cousins by descent from Isaac Chartier.
