Note on Husband: John William Lubbock

Sir John William Lubbock, 3rd Bt., was educated at Eton & Trinity Coll, Cambridge; BA 1825, MA 1833; Treasurer and Vice-President of the Royal Society 1830-35 and 1838-45; Royal Medallist 1834; Fellow of the University of London 1836 until his death, Vice-Chancellor 1836-1842; FRAS 1828, Hon M Inst CE 1839, FRS 1859. One of the Treasurers of the Great Exhibition 1851. High Sheriff for County Kent 1852. He was a banker and scientific writer: author of "Six Maps of the Stars" and other works. He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Lubbock on 22 October 1840.
