    The Hones appear by the registers to have been a numerous family in the parish, and for three generations held the office of church clerk, afterwards succeeded by three generations of the Spooners, the present church clerk, William Spooner, being maternally the great-great-great-grandson of the first church clerk of the name of Hone.
