When I was about thirteen, ... we moved to Smethwick just outside Birmingham. I went to a very small private school called Bearwood High School for Girls. There were only about twenty pupils of all ages, divided into two classes! These classes were taught by two teachers, mother and daughter, and I learned absolutely nothing there.
