    At Lutterworth on Wednesday, Ward Attfield, butcher, Ashby Magna, Leicestershire, was committed for trial at the Assizes, on the charge of attempting to murder his wife, Mary Attfield, on the 25th ult. They had been quarrelling, and directly afterwards two gunshots were heard in the cottage. Prisoner was found with a discharged gun in his hand, and Mrs Attfield on the floor bleeding from a gunshot wound on the arm. She was in a critical state for some time, but is now out of danger.
