In 1881, a 13 year old, living at Ulcombe Street, Ulcombe, Kent with her parents, 57 year old William, born Chatham, Kent and 47 year old Mary, born in India, and her 14 year old sister Annette and they kept nine indoor servants. Eva married in 1897, sculptor George James Cowell, and painted under the name of Eva Cowell. A portrait painter, who exhibited at Liverpool Walker Art Gallery; New Gallery; Royal Society of Portrait Painters; Royal Academy and the Society of Women Artists, in 1897 from Maida Vale, London, in 1901 from Saxmundham, in 1911 Leiston and in 1926 from Aldeburgh, all in Suffolk. In 1899 as Mrs [Eva] Cowell she exhibited at the Ipswich Fine Art Club in 1899, a pastel 'Miss Eleanor Heywood' and in 1901 she exhibited from Saxmundham, at the New Gallery in Regent's Street, London a portrait 'Countess of Wilton' and in 1904 at the Society of Women Artists, a crayon 'Vera, daughter of Hon. Fitzroy Stewart'. In 1939, a widow, living at apartments at 52 Lee Road, Aldeburgh. Living at Conway, Marshall Lane, Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire when she died at Gerrards Cross Hospital on 17 April 1941, aged 73.
