Per the Solicitors Journal dated 27 Oct 1917, page 30 : Mr Desborough said that he did not want to be bailed. and also page 178: As the Central Criminal Court, on Tuesday, says the Times, before Mr. Justice Avery, Montague William Desborough, fifty, solicitor, was sentenced to five years penal servitude at an inditement, to which he pleaded "Guilty". charging with the fradulent conversion of money belonging to some of his clients.
Per The Law Journal, Vol 53, page 141, adted 1918: Montague William Desborough, formerly of Queen Street, E.C., convicted in December at the Central Criminal Court of converting 7,338 pounts and sentenced to five years' penal servitude.
