Note (shared):
Frederick James Bendall, iron founder, married Ida Kate Brooks in 1876. He died of cancer in 1890 leaving Kate with 5 young children - I think he was in Hillingdon because it would be difficult at home with a young family. Charlotte Brooks (Kate's elder sister) was 'present at the death'. The family moved from a beautiful house in Manningtree to Ipswich - and I think were supported financially by Kate's father. There were 5 children.
