Will of Sophia Attfield of Chipping Barnet in the County of Herts widow, partly deaf and blind, 19 Sep 1837. To sister Mary Beal all my furniture and household goods being at the time of my decease in my dwelling house; to Mr George Attfield the Elder of Weymouth in the County of Dorset now in the service of Mrs Young the sum of fifty pounds; to Mrs Spong the wife of Mr Spong of Alfred Place Tottenham Court Road tailor fifty pounds; to nephew John Wilson of Stanmore carpenter fifty pounds; to nephew William Wilson of Elstree carpenter fifty pounds; to Mr Benjamin Smith ten pounds; rest of property estate and effects to brother in law Thomas Beal now residing with me and Mr Benjamin Smith of Chipping Barnet grocer upon the trusts hereinafter mentioned: to invest the sum of one hundred pounds in government stocks funds or securities in England and as to the interest and dividends thereof to pay the same to my sister Lucy Goodwin for life for her own absolute use and benefit; as to the residue and balance of my estate to invest the same in government stocks funds or securities in England on trust to and for such uses intents and purposes as my said sister Mary Beal notwithstanding her coverture shall direct, and in default of such direction to pay the interest dividends and annual proceeds of the said balance to my said sister Mary Beal for her own absolute use and benefit free from the control of her present or any future husband, and after her decease to pay the same to her husband Thomas Beal for life, and after their decease to pay and divide one moiety of the said trust fund equally between the children of my late brother John Wilson of Great Stanmore carpenter and to divide the other moiety equally between the children of my late sister Elizabeth Gray formerly of Shepherd Street Oxford Street; I appoint Thomas Beal and Benjamin Smith execs.

Witnesses: Edward Rice, 2 Verulam Buildings, Grays Inn, Deane Samuel Walker, 18 King Street, Snow Hill.
